- All the District Educational Officers in the State are informed that the Mid-Day Meal programme is a flagship programme aiming at enhancing enrollment, retention and attendance and simultaneously improving nutritional levels among children studying in Government, Local Body and Government-aided primary and upper primary schools and the Centres run under Education Guarantee Scheme (EGS)/(AIE) & NCLP schools.
- The Hon'ble Chief Minister has personally reviewed the persistence of malnutrition among children and changes in the existing Menu being provided to the children. The Hon'ble Chief Minister has directed for initiating immediate steps to revise the existing Menu as acceptable, tastier, nutritious and cost effective one and providing additional nutritious food (Peanut-Jaggery Chikki/laddu) to all the children in the State.
- As per directions of the Hon'ble Chief Minster the Newly proposed weekly menu plan for MDM Scheme is as follows:

- In addition to the above it is proposed to provide Peanut agery Chikki/Balls (25 grms per child) for three days in a week as supplementary nutrition. The Menu and supplementary nutrition are going to be implemented with effect from the date of reopening of schools after Pongal holidays.
- For an effective and systematic implementation of the programme it is proposed to conduct one day training programme/workshop intended to train the Cook-cum-Helpers on revision of menu and supplementary nutrition under MDM in the State. The Training programme/ workshop will be held on 10 January 2020 in the office of the Commissioner of School Education, Amaravati located at Ibrahimpatnam Krishna district.
- The workshop will be held under the directive of Commissioner of School Education and the Nutrition Experts will provide technical inputs and facilitation at the workshop.
- The District Educational Officers are, therefore, requested to select the following number of teachers/ cooks from each district and depute for the training programme/ workshop

3. Four Cook-cum- Helpers
- The District Educational are requested to identify the Cooks, who can understand in the training program and to train other cooks in District/Mandal level training programmes. An interested Teacher shall accompany them.
- It is also proposed to conduct District Level training programmes during 17-20 of January 2020. The District Educational Officers are requested to chalk out the day-wise schedule for District Level / Mandal Level training programs covering all the cooks in the district. The expenditure for conducting these training programmes shall be met from the MME funds under MDM scheme. Necessary budget aro on is also being made available for the program.
- The TA/DA for the participant Assistant Director & the teachers their respective Districts as per rules and for the Cooks the amount shall be met from MME funds of MDM
