- a) The candidates should apply online through APOnline services only. www.apteachers.in
- b) Application Fee: Rs. 150.00 (for OC and BC candidates) Rs. 100.00 (for SC and ST candidates)
- c) The application fee should be paid in cash at APOnline service center, for which the center will issue a receipt.
- d) An additional amount of Rs. 20.00 per application should be paid as service charges to the APOnline Centre.
- e) If any candidate applies more than once, then the latest application will be considered for the selection process.
- f) Immediately after submitting the application through online, applicants claiming reservation under PH/CAP/NCC/Sports should send its print-out duly signed along with copies of the relevant certificates (mentioned below) to The Director, Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, , Mylavaram Road, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh – 521202, by Speed post / Registered post. The candidate should write on top of the cover “Application for Admissions 2016-RGUKT ”.
3. List of Certificates to be enclosed in the case of candidates with PH / CAP / NCC / Sports:
Certified copies of the following certificates or documents should be sent along with the print-out of the online application form submitted through APOnline services .www.apteacehrs.in
- a) Hall ticket of 10th class or its equivalent
- b) Certificate showing the GPA of 10th class public examination, like SSC / CBSE / ICSE
- / NIOS.
- c) Physically Handicapped (PH) certificate in the prescribed proforma by those claiming reservation under this category, (for details, see Annexure – V)
- d) Children of Armed Forces (CAP) certificate in the prescribed proforma by those claiming reservation under this category, (for details, see Annexure - VI)
- e) NCC certificate by those claiming reservation under this category (for details see
- Annexure – VII).
- f) Sports certificate(s) at the level of inter-district and above by those claiming reservation under this category (for details see Annexure – VII).
4. Admission Procedure:
- a) Admissions to the first year of Integrated B.TechProgram (2016-17) will be based on merit in the Grade Point Average (GPA) and Grade obtained in each subject, and by following the statutory reservations of the State. A deprivation score of 0.4 prescribed by the Government for the year 2016-17 under Statute 13 (3), shall be added to the
- 10thclass GPA of those applicants who studied in non-residential Government Schools including the Zilla Parishad and Municipal Schools, with an objective of providing weightage to the socio economically challenged students in the admission process.
- b) Special allocation one seat to each unrepresented mandal prescribed by the Government for the year 2016-17 will be made, which shall be filled up by following the rule of reservation, pending amendment to Statute-13 of RGUKT Act, 2008.
- c) At RGUKT, , admissions to 85% of the total available seats shall be reserved for the Local Candidates (Andhra University Region which includes the Districts of East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari) and the remaining 15% of the seats are open to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana students based on merit, as specified in the Presidential Order 371 Article D in consonance to Section 95 of the A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014.
- a) Candidates should have passed SSC (10th class) or any other equivalent examination recognized by the Governments of Andhra Pradesh, and conducted in
- 2016.
- b) Candidates should not have completed 18 years of age as on 31.12.2016, (21 years incase of students belonging to SC and ST categories).
- c) International students shall be of Indian Nationality / Persons of Indian Origin
- (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.
6. Rules of Reservation:
- a) The admissions to 85% of the total available seats shall be reserved for the Local Candidates (Andhra University Region) and the remaining 15% of the seats are open to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana students based on merit, as specified in the Presidential Order 371 Article D in consonance to Section 95 of the A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014 (see Annexure-1).
- b) The rules of reservation for different categories are as under in both local and unreserved categories, subject to any changes and amendments made by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
- i. SC - 15%, ST - 6%, BC-A - 7%, BC-B - 10%, BC-C - 1%, BC-D - 7%, BC-E - 4%
- ii. Physically Handicapped (PH) - 3%, Children of Armed Personnel (CAP) - 2%, NCC –
- 1% and Sports - 0.5%.
- iii. A horizontal reservation of 33 1/3 % of seats in favor of women candidates in each category (OC/SC/ST/BC/Special Categories) shall be ensured, wherever women candidates are available.
- iv. In case of PH candidates, certificates issued by the State Medical Board alone are acceptable. For Sports and CAP categories, certificates issued by the respective District Boards are acceptable. These reservations are applicable at state- level. Model proformas for certificates are given for all the above categories in Annexure.
- v. Since the courses offered are technical in nature and require appropriate physical fitness, RGUKT reserves the right of rejecting the application of such candidates who are declared by the experts as physically unfit to pursue the course.
7. Selection Method:
- a) Admissions will be based on merit in the Grade Point Average (GPA) and Grade obtained in each subject, and as per the provisions of Presidential Order, 1974. A deprivation score of 0.4 prescribed by the Government for the year 2016-17 under Statute 13 (3), shall be added to the 10th class GPA of applicants from non-residential Government Schools including the Zillaparishad and Municipal Schools for selection, with an objective of providing weightage to help the students from socially, economically deprived sections of the society for admissions.
- b) In case of a tie in GPA score, it will be resolved by adopting the following options in that sequence:
- i. Higher grade in Mathematics,
- ii. Higher grade in General Science, iii. Higher grade in English,
- iv. Higher grade in Social Studies, v. Higher grade in 1st Language,
- vi. Older candidate as per the Date of Birth,
- vii. Lowest random number obtained from the hall ticket number.
- If the tie is resolved with any of the check in the chronological order mentioned above, the next option(s) will not be checked.
c) The procedure of resolving by random number is as follows:
- For SSC, NIOS & OSSC applicants
- The random number will be obtained as the reminder of {253 x [first 5 digits of thehall ticket number] divided by the last 5 digits of the hall ticket number}
- For example, from the hall ticket no.1219121028, the first five digits viz., 12191 and the last five digits viz., 21028 will be considered for this purpose. The reminder is 14235.
- For CBSE & ICSE applicants
- The Hall ticket consists seven digits. Hence, the random number will be obtained as the reminder of {253 x [first 3 digits of the hall ticket number] divided by the last 4digits of the hall ticket number}.
- For example, from the hall ticket no.4112605, the first three digits viz., 411 and thelast four digits viz., 2605 will be considered for this purpose. The reminder is 2388.
8. Intimation to Selected Candidates:
a. The list of provisionally selected candidates for counseling will be displayed on the
University website www.rguktn.ac.in
b. The candidates will also be informed by post, E-mail and SMS message, wherever possible, to the address/mobile number written in the application form.
9. Counseling:
- a) The provisional selected candidates for counseling shall report in person at RGUKT – Nuzvid Institute, Nuzvid, Krishna District, A.P. for the verification of original certificates / documents mentioned below and the details provided in the application form. The candidates should submit a print out copy of the application along with the following documents at the time of counseling. The proforma for the certificates mentioned below are given in Annexures.
- i. The receipt issued by the APOnline services ii. Hall Ticket of X standard (10th Class)
- iii. GPA of 10th class Public Examination, i.e., SSC/CBSE/ICSE/NIOS.
- iv. Study certificates from 4th to 10th class / Residence certificate by those claiming Local
- Category (AU), (for details, see Annexure – II)
- v. Residence certificate / service certificate of parents by those claiming Non-Local
- Category (for details, see Annexure - III)
- vi. Proof of caste / community certificate (SC/ST/BC) in the prescribed proforma by those claiming reservation under any of these categories, (for details, see Annexure - IV)
- vii. Physically Handicapped (PH) certificate in the prescribed proforma by those claiming
- Reservation under this category, (for details, see Annexure – V)
- viii. Children of Armed Forces (CAP) certificate in the prescribed proforma by those claiming reservation under this category, (for details, see Annexure - VI)
- ix. NCC, Sports and games certificates by those claiming reservation under this category, (for details, see Annexure - VII)
b) The candidates selected provisionally for Nuzvid campus shall report in person for counseling at RGUKT, Nuzvid campus for verification of original certificates / documents and the details provided in the application form.
c) Counseling and selection for admission in respect of candidates belonging to the SpecialCategories like Physically Handicapped (PH), Children of Armed Personnel (CAP), NCC andSports will be conducted at RGUKT- Nuzvid on prescribed dates.
NOTE: If a candidate fails to submit any of the relevant certificates, he/she shall not be considered for admission.
10. Admission:
a) Admission to the first year of 6-year integrated engineering course in the Universitywill be granted only after satisfactory verification and scrutiny of the details mentioned in the application and the original certificates / documents submitted by the candidateat the counseling centre. Mere selection for counseling and verification of certificates /documents will not guarantee admission to the candidate.
11. Annual Fee:
- a) The tuition fee for the candidates who studied in Schools situated in Andhra Pradesh
- &Telangana states is Rs.36,000/- per annum for PUC I & II, Rs. 40,000/- for
- Engineering.
- b) Students who are eligible for tuition fee reimbursement as per the guidelines issued by the respective State Governments need not pay the tuition fee (Students whose parental annual income is below Rs.1.0 Lakh for non SC/ST category and below Rs.2.0
- Lakh for SC/ST category and who fulfill the other conditions as per the latest Govt.Rules are eligible for fee reimbursement).
- c) Every student has to pay a registration fee of Rs.1,000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates) and a refundable caution deposit of Rs.2,000 (by all), that is a total ofRs.3,000/- (Rs 2,500/- in case of SC/ST candidates) at the time of admission.
12. Admission of students from other States and International Students:
- a) Supernumerary seats to the extent of 5% are available to students belonging to States other than Andhra Pradesh & Telangana State including the children of Indians working in Gulf Countries / International and NRI students. Admission will be on thebasis of merit in the marks/grades obtained in 10th standard examination. Thosecandidates who got a minimum of 70% of marks alone are eligible for admissions.
- b) The tuition fee for students from other states and children of Indians working in Gulf
- Countries is Rs. 1, 36,000/- per annum for PUC I & II, Rs. 1, 40,000/- for Engineering. c) The tuition fee for International / NRI students is Rs. 3, 00,000/- per annum.
- d) Applicants from the States other than Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, children ofIndians working in Gulf Countries, International and NRI students seeking admission at RGUKT – Nuzvid shall apply through RGUKT website only. A separate link www.rguktn.ac.in is provided for the purpose at the institute website.
- e) The application fee for students from a State other than AP & Telangana is Rs.150/-.
- f) The application fee for children of Indians working in Gulf Countries, International and
- NRI is US$: 25.00.
- g) Applicants who are children of Indians working in Gulf Countries, International and NRIstudents should pay the application fee through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, RGUKT-Nuzvid, SBH, RGUIIIT-Branch, Nuzvid.
- Note: The University reserves the right to cancel the admission of any student if it isfound now or later that he/she secured admission by giving false information of any kind.
