- While communicating a copy of reference read above, all the District Educational Officers in the state are informed that the Director, National Innovation Foundation-India has informed that NIF-India promotes originality and creativity among school children. The IGNITE Awards are announced every year in 15th October, the birthday of Bharat Ratna. former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, celebrated as Children's Creativity and Innovation Day by NIF . The IGNITE competition was renamed as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam IGNITE Awards 2015 onward to commemorate the ever inspiring memory of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who had been giving awards to the winners till 2014.
- For the current Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Competition 2018, he requested to circulate IGNITE campaign information to the affiliated schools so that students of our state can also activity participation in the competition and possibly win award at the national level. The dream of an Innovative and inclusive India cannot be fulfilled without making our children creative and compassionate.
- Therefore all the District Educational Officers in the state are informed to circulate IGNITE campaign information to the affiliated schools so that students of our state can also actively participate in the competition and possibly win award at the national level. Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Competition 2018 is accepting the entries till August 31, 2018. The participants can participate in the competition by sending their entries through post , submitting them online on NIF website or emailing at ignite@india.org.
Eligibility
- Original and creative technological ideas and innovations of the students OR/AND any technological idea/innovation that solves any daily-life problem, be it household or of porters, laborers, or the likes. In addition, during their vacations or otherwise, the students are encouraged to look for other people who come out with innovative machines/devices or solve day-to-day problems using their creativity. Similarly, they are also encouraged to document and learn traditional knowledge (TK) practices from elders in their families and neighborhood. The purpose is to expose them to the rich traditional heritage that we have, facilitating its transfer from generation to generation. The students submitting the maximum number of properly-documented entries (innovations/TK) to the schools (which would forward them to NIF) or directly to NIF, would be given appreciation certificates. For each innovation/TK practice spotted and documented by the student, he/she will be credited as being the 'scout' of that innovation/TK in records.
- The entries will be received till August 31, 2018. All entries received after this date will be considered for Dr APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE 2019 competition.Students from any educational board can participate in Dr APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE competition. The children, who are out of school, up to the age of 17 years can also participate.
