Clarifications:
- Orders were issued in the reference first cited for stepping up the pay of any senior on par with the junior subject to certain conditions as laid down therein. During the course of implementation of recommendations of Ninth Pay Revision Commission vide references second to fourth cited, an anomalous situation has arisen in some cases where the junior got the benefit of Special Grade and SAPP-I under Automatic Advancement Scheme and promoted to the next higher post and got fixation benefit under FR.22-B where as the senior got the benefit of Special Grade Scale under Automatic Advancement Scheme and promoted to the next higher post and got fixation benefit under FR.22-B. As a result the pay of junior was fixed higher than his senior in his promotion post.

The Government has examined the issue and in order to remove the above anomaly hereby order that in all cases similar to those cited above, the pay of the senior should be stepped up with effect from the date of promotion of the junior to a figure equal to the pay as fixed for the junior in the higher post to which he is promoted in the Revised Pay Scales, 2010 on or after 01.07.2008 subject to fulfilling the conditions laid down in the reference first read above.
