MDM Rice Eggs Chikks Distribution to School Children from 19th Mar - 31st Mar due to COVID

- In reference 1st cited a Suo Moto Writ Petition (Civil) has been filed in the Hon'ble Supreme Court on which the Court has issued directions for bringing a uniform policy among all the States which have taken steps for closure of Schools to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by continuing nutritional support to the School Children and Anganwadis so as to prevent another crisis of malnutrition while dealing with the present crisis.
- 2. Government, after careful examination of the matter, hereby accord permission to the Commissioner of School Education, AP., / the Director (MDM) to continue Nutritional Support to the School Children amidst closure of Schools on account of preventing the spread of COVID-19 and to take all the essential precautionary steps in the distribution of the dry ration of Rice, Eggs and Chikkis strictly as per the entitlement of the Children and as per the no. of working days from 19/03/2020 to 31/03/2020 for which the Schools remain shut , as mentioned in the following table.

- 3. Further, the District Educational Officers in the State are instructed to ensure that the above items shall be delivered to the parents without any deviations and without delay. They are also directed to take same action in respect of NGOs where centralized Kitchens are providing MDM by instructing them to deliver the required rice to the School points. 4. The whole process shall be undertaken by involving gram volunteers and gram sachivalaya staff of Education Dept. to avoid any leakages and ensure 100% distribution.
- 5. The Commissioner of School Education, AP., / the Director (MDM) /the RJDSE's /the DEOs shall take necessary further action in the matter accordingly.
