Details:
- Instructions w.r.t. the distribution of Dry Ration to the HOSTELLERS who have been to their Native villages All the District Educational Officers in the State are informed that the Government in the reference 4th and 6th cited has instructed to distribute Dry ration including Rice, Eggs and Chikkis as per the daily entitlement of the child under MDM covering the entire Schools in the state and therefore the entire Students are entitled for the Dry ration distribution during the lockdown period. The distribution of the Dry ration including Rice, Eggs and Chikkis to the Homes of the students, is being implemented in two phases – Phase I : 19th to 31st March, 2020 and Phase II : 1st to 23rd April, 2020.
- During the Phase I distribution it was noticed that a significant section of students were not delivered dry ration as they happened to be hostellers who have been to their native villages as the hostels they were residing including hostels run by government departments like the Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare, BC Welfare and other govt. agencies as well as private hostels were closed during the lockdown. The matter was discussed at the government level between the departments of Social welfare and the Education dept. and it was felt that the ration has to reach the hostellers by way of utilizing the e portability feature of the e PDS. However since eggs and chikkis also form part of the Dry ration, special steps have to be taken by the Officials to distribute the same to the hostellers at their native villages.
- All the DEOs are hearby informed that many hostellers are found to be natives of villages located by and large within mandals/districts and in some rare cases, other districts. Therefore the DEOs shall specifically instruct all the MEOs to
- 1. Obtain the list of Hostellers – govt & private hostels, who have not drawn Dry ration in their original schools from the various government hostel wardens in their jurisdiction in the following proforma – flexibility in the proforma is allowed.
