The B.Ed. Programme of IGNOU is recognized by the NCTE vide their Letters No. F3/DL-83/99/7807-7812 dated 31/05/1999 and NRC/NCTE/OL-83/dated 23/10/2015 is offered in NCTE approved B.Ed. Training Colleges of Education in the country.
a) at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in theMaster’s Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, and
b) The following categories are eligible to be students of B.Ed. (ODL):
(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.
(ii) Candidates who have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education programme through Face-to-Face mode.
The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Government.
Reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules.
Masters’ Degree awarded without a first degree is not accepted for purpose of Academic Studies in IGNOU.

IGNOU Bed program is recognized by NCTE. It is a 2 years duration program and is available in both English and Hindi medium. Candidates have no need to pay admission fees at the time of submitting the application form. Once you got an offer letter of admission, you can pay your fees only through Demand Draft in favor of IGNOU payable at the regional centre city where you applied. IGNOU’s B.Ed entrance exam will be conducted online. It will consist of multiple-choice questions. Students will have one hour to complete the test. There will be no negative marks. Questions will be divided according to their nature. General English comprehension, logical and analytical reasoning, general knowledge, etc., are examples of such questionsThe IGNOU’s B.Ed entrance paper is divided into two parts: Part-A and Part B.
