Indian Space Research Organisation is organising a special programme for School Children called "Young Scientist Programme" "YUva VIgyani KAryakram”, YUVIKA, to impart basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger students in emerging trends in space science and technology amongst the youngsters, who are the future building blocks of our nation.
Expenditure towards only the travel of selected student (II AC train fare or AC (including Volvo) bus fare by State Government or authorized transport from nearest Railway Station/ Bust terminal to the reporting centre and back). Student needs to produce original ticket of travel for reimbursement of travel fare from respective ISRO centre.

స్కూల్ విద్యార్థుల కోసం యంగ్ సైంటిస్ట్ ప్రోగ్రామ్‌ను ఇస్రో ప్రత్యేక చేపడుతోంది. దీన్ని YUVIKA అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు. YUVIKA అంటే 'యువ విజ్ఞాన కార్యక్రమం' అని అర్థం. యంగ్ సైంటిస్ట్ ప్రోగ్రామ్ రిజిస్ట్రేషన్స్ మార్చి 20 నుంచి ప్రారంభిస్తున్నట్లు ఇస్రో తెలిపింది. ఈ ప్రక్రియ ఏప్రిల్ 30 వరకు కొనసాగనుంది. ఆసక్తి ఉన్న విద్యార్థులు ఇస్రో అధికారిక పోర్టల్ isro.gov.in/YUVIKA ద్వారా ఆన్‌లైన్‌లో దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవచ్చు. ఈ యంగ్ సైంటిస్ట్ ప్రోగ్రామ్ మే 15 నుంచి ప్రారంభమై, మే 26 వరకు కొనసాగుతుంది.
* ఎవరు అర్హులు?
YUVIKA-2023లో పాల్గొనే విద్యార్థుల ఎంపిక ప్యారామీటర్స్ ఇలా ఉన్నాయి. 8వ తరగతి లేదా చివరిగా నిర్వహించిన పరీక్షలో పొందిన మార్కులు, ఆన్‌లైన్ క్విజ్‌లో పర్ఫార్మెన్స్, సైన్స్ ఫెయిర్‌లలో పాల్గొనడం, ఒలింపియాడ్ లేదా అందుకు సమానమైన పరీక్షలలో ర్యాంక్, స్పోర్ట్స్ పోటీల్లో విజేతలు, స్కౌట్అండ్ గైడ్స్, గత మూడేళ్లలో NCC, NSS సభ్యునిగా పాల్గొనడం, గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో చదువుకోవడం వంటి అంశాల ఆధారంగా అభ్యర్థుల ఎంపిక ఉంటుంది.
* రిజిస్ట్రేషన్ ప్రక్రియ
ముందు ఇస్రో YUVIKA అధికారిక పోర్టల్ https://www.isro.gov.in/ ను విజిట్ చేయాలి. హోమ్ పేజీలో రిజిస్ట్రేషన్ లింక్ ఉంటుంది. దానిపై క్లిక్ చేయాలి. దీంతో కొత్త పేజీ ఓపెన్ అవుతుంది
అవసరమైన వివరాలను ఎంటర్ చేసి ఇస్రో YUVIKA ప్రోగ్రామ్ కోసం రిజిస్టర్ అవ్వాలి. ఆ తరువాత అప్లికేషన్ నింపి, అవసరమైన డాక్యుమెంట్లను అప్‌లోడ్ చేయాలి.
చివరగా అప్లికేషను సబ్‌మిట్ చేయాలి. భవిష్యత్ అవసరాల కోసం అప్లికేషన్ కాపీని సేవ్ చేసుకోవాలి.
కాగా, ఎంపికైన విద్యార్థుల మొదటి జాబితాను ఇస్రో ఏప్రిల్ 10న, రెండో జాబితాను ఏప్రిల్ 20న విడుదల చేయనుంది.
ఏడు సెంటర్లలో ప్రోగ్రామ్
ఇస్రోకు చెందిన ఏడు సెంటర్లలో ఈ ప్రోగ్రామ్ జరుగుతుంది. తిరువనంతపురంలోని విక్రమ్ సారాభాయ్ స్పేస్ సెంటర్, బెంగళూరులోని యుఆర్ రావు శాటిలైట్ సెంటర్, అహ్మదాబాద్‌లోని స్పేస్ అప్లికేషన్ సెంటర్, శ్రీహరికోటలోని సతీష్ ధావన్ అంతరిక్ష కేంద్రం, హైదరాబాద్‌లోని నేషనల్ రిమోట్ సెన్సింగ్ సెంటర్ (NRSC), ఇండియన్ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ రిమోట్ సెన్సింగ్ -డెహ్రాడూన్, నార్త్-ఈస్ట్ స్పేస్ అప్లికేషన్ సెంటర్ (NE-SAC)- షిల్లాంగ్‌ వంటి సెంటర్లలో ఈ ప్రోగ్రామ్ జరగనుంది. ఈ ప్రోగ్రామ్‌కు సంబంధించి విద్యార్థుల ప్రయాణ ఖర్చులు, కోర్సు మెటీరియల్, వసతి, బోర్డింగ్‌ వంటి ఖర్చులను ఇస్రో భరిస్తుంది.

ISRO Young Scientist Selection Process
The selection of participants in YUVIKA-2023 will be carried out on the basis of following parameters:

- A minimum participation will be ensured from each State / UT. The programme is planned at seven centres of ISRO viz.Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun.
- Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram.
- Satish Dhavan Space Center (SDSC) Sriharikota.
- U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru.
- Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad.
- National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad.
- North-Eastern Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC), Shillong.

In case the student has not travelled by the II AC train (II AC class), the maximum reimbursement of fare will be limited to II AC train fare only.
