All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are aware that in order to ensure that poverty of the parents does not come in the way of educating their children, the Government of Andhra Pradesh have announced and launched a unique and innovative scheme “JAGANANNA AMMAVODI.” Releasing financial assistance of Rs.15,000/- per annum to each mother or recognized guardian in the absence of mother who are Below Poverty Line (BPL) household, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, and region for sending their children to Schools or Colleges from Class I to XII (Intermediate Education) in all recognized Government and Private recognized management schools / colleges in the State. (Rs.13000 is directly released to the Mother’s bank account and the remaining Rs.2000 per child is released to the school committee for the maintenance of the Schools and Toilets.
2. The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh will be launching the prestigious flagship programme “Jagananna Ammavodi” for the Academic Year 2022-23 on 28-06-2023 at Kurupam Constituency in Parvathipuram Manyam District.
3. In this connection all the District Collectors and Magistrates in the state are requested to organize functions at the district level in all the remaining 25 districts (except Manyam) in a befitting manner, in consultation with the District in-charge Minister and by involving all public representatives. Further it is requested to bestow your personal attention to arrange live telecast of the Hon’ble Chief Minister's programme. Good number of beneficiaries (mothers and children) shall be assembled and the details of Ammavodi in the respective districts shall be released for wide publicity. In this program a demo cheque has to be handed over to the beneficiaries for the total amount sanctioned under Ammavodi for the District.
4. Further, it is informed that from 30th June 2023 to 7th July 2023, programmes at Mandal level are to be organized in every mandal/municipality under the leadership of the local public representative. The day wise programme covering all mandals/municipalities shall be prepared by the District Collector in consultation with the public representatives. The children and parents from the school where the program is held and nearby schools may be called. In this program a demo cheque has to be prepared for the amount sanctioned under Ammavodi for the mandal concerned. This programme may be organized, in a festive manner, preferably in a big school in the mandal where there is a provision for good gathering and accessibility to the public.
