A Common Entrance Test, designated as Education Common Entrance Test-2024 (AP EdCET-2024) will be conducted by the CONVENER, APEdCET-2024, Andhra University, Vijayanagar Palace, Visakhapatnam-530017 on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admission into B.Ed. Regular Course and B.Ed. Special Education in the University /Government/ Aided and /Private Colleges of Education in Andhra Pradesh for the Academic Year 2024-2025.

(i) The Candidates should be Indian Nationals.
(ii) The Candidates should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order 1974 as subsequently amended.
(a) Candidates should have passed/appearing for final year examinations of B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.A.(O.L)/B.Com./ B.C.A./B.B.M./B.E/B.Tech. at the time of submitting the Application for APEdCET-2024. Candidates are required to produce marks memo and pass certificate at the time of admission.
(b) Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA either in the Bachelor’s Degree i.e., B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./B.C.A./B.B.M/B.A(O.L) and or in the Post- Graduate Degree in relevant subject or 5 years integrated course in the relevant subject of methodology or any other qualification equivalent thereto.
METHODOLOGY ELIGIBILITY:
1.Mathematics: Candidates with B.A/B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the group subjects or B.C.A. candidate’s with Mathematics at intermediate level as a group subject or B.E./B.Tech. with Mathematics & Physics at intermediate level.
2.Physical Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc. who have studied Physics and Chemistry or Allied Material Sciences (See Annexure-I) under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. Candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at intermediate level as group subjects or B.E./B.Tech. with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry at intermediate level.
3.Biological Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc./B.Sc.(Home Science) who have studied Botany and Zoology or Allied Life Sciences (See Annexure-II) under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. candidates with Biological Sciences at intermediate level as group subjects.
4.Social Studies: All candidates with B.A./ B.A(O.L)/B.Com./B.B.M. or B.C.A. candidates with Social Sciences at intermediate level as group subjects.
5.English: Candidates with B.A Special English or M.A. English.
Part-A: General English - 25 questions for 25 marks
Part-B:
1. Local Area-Wise Reservations:
(i) Admission to 85% of the seats in each methodology shall be reserved for the local candidates and 15% of the seats shall be left unreserved as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order 1974 as amended in G.O.P.No.646 Education (W) Department, dated: 10th July,1979.
(ii) The part of the State comprising the districts of Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, East Godavari, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Konaseema West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla and Prakasam shall be regarded as the Andhra University-Local Area.
(iii) The part of the State comprising the districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor, Annamayya, YSR, Nandyal, Sri Satya Sai, Tirupati and Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore shall be regarded as the Sri Venkateswara University-Local Area.
(iv) All the districts of Telangana shall be regarded as the Osmania University-local area (and Non- Local to both AU area and SVU area).
(v) In respect of State-wide Institutions, i.e., Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visva Vidyalayam, Tirupati, Dravidian University, Kuppam admission to 85% of seats, in each methodology shall be reserved for the candidates belonging to the three local areas mentioned above and the balance of 15% of seats shall be left for the open competition.

AP EdCET 2024 Eligibility, Educational Qualifications
Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for APEdCET-2024.(i) The Candidates should be Indian Nationals.
(ii) The Candidates should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order 1974 as subsequently amended.
(iii) Educational Qualifications:
(b) Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA either in the Bachelor’s Degree i.e., B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./B.C.A./B.B.M/B.A(O.L) and or in the Post- Graduate Degree in relevant subject or 5 years integrated course in the relevant subject of methodology or any other qualification equivalent thereto.
However the candidates belonging to all other reserved categories S.C, S.T, B.C.(A/B/C/D/E), and physically handicapped should have secured a minimum of 40% marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying examination.
Note: The candidates who passed B.E/B.Tech. (with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA), with Mathematics, Physics are eligible for admission into the Course in Maths Methodologies.

The candidates should have completed the age of 19 years on the 1st of July in the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.
Methodology Eligibility for EdCET Entrance Exam
(G.O.Ms.No. 92, Education (SE-Trg-I) Department, dated 16-11-2006 and the amendments thereafter).METHODOLOGY ELIGIBILITY:
1.Mathematics: Candidates with B.A/B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the group subjects or B.C.A. candidate’s with Mathematics at intermediate level as a group subject or B.E./B.Tech. with Mathematics & Physics at intermediate level.
2.Physical Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc. who have studied Physics and Chemistry or Allied Material Sciences (See Annexure-I) under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. Candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at intermediate level as group subjects or B.E./B.Tech. with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry at intermediate level.

AP Ed CET 2024 Exam Pattern, Scheme
The common entrance test will be of objective type (multiple choices) examination. Candidate has to answer 150 questions in two hours time.Part-A: General English - 25 questions for 25 marks
Part-B:
1) General Knowledge - 15 questions for 15 marks
2) Teaching Aptitude - 10 questions for 10 marks
Part-C: Methodology:

EdCET 2024 Qualifying Marks
The qualifying marks in the Entrance Test for all candidates (except SC/ST) are 37 out of total marks (i.e. 25%). For the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities, there will be no qualifying marks for ranking.
