    Step 2: Click on the ‘Apply Scholarship’ button to start the application.

    Step 3: Fill in all required details in the application form. (Note: The students are required to fill the application form in capital letters).

    Step 4: Upload all supporting documents along with the completed application duly certified as well as forwarded by the Dean/Head/Principal of the University/Institute/College and submit.

    Step 5: Also, a hard copy of the same should reach the designated ONGC office of the respective zone. (Note: The zone from where the candidates can apply is decided based on the location of the candidate’s college/institute/university of the qualifying examination, not on the basis of the applicant’s domicile).

    ONGC Scholarship 2024 – Selection Criteria

    It is a merit-based scholarship that takes academic merit into account for final selection. The list of final selected scholars is made by the company itself. If candidates are pursuing an Engineering or MBBS programme, the selection is based on the performance of the candidate in the class 12th examination.

    However, if applicants are pursuing an MBA or Master’s course in Geology or Geophysics, the selection is based on the applicant’s performance at the graduation level. In the case of students having equal marks in the qualifying examination, students with lower family income will be selected.

    Furthermore, the preference will be given to students from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families and other students shall be considered only if a sufficient number of students from BPL families fulfilling the eligibility criteria is not available.

    Selection Procedure:

    Selection of candidate will be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination prescribed for each eligible course of study. In case of students having equal marks in the qualifying examination students with lower family income will be selected.

    Preference shall be given to students from below poverty line (BPL) families and other students shall be considered only if sufficient number of students from BPL families fulfilling the eligibility criteria is not available.

    Disbursement of ONGC Scholarship

    The scholarship will cover lump sum amount of Rs 4000/- (Four Thousand) per month i.e. Rs 48000/- Per Annum

    The amount shall be paid on yearly basis after completion of the academic year. The amount of scholarship will be deposited directly in the bank account of students through ECS facility.

    Once awarded, the scholarship shall be continued every year till the completion of the course subject to promotion of the student to the next year of his/her course. Scholarship shall be discontinued if the candidate is not promoted to the next year by their respective Institute/College/University. For the continuation of the scholarship, the students will have to send an online ‘Application for renewal’ in the prescribed format.

    In case the student opts for any different scholarship subsequently after award of ONGC Scholarship, he/she should have to refund the entire scholarship amount received from ONGC Foundation.
